Our Ragdolls

We Raise Ragdolls & Cherubims

At Ragdoll Ranch Texas, we proudly raise Ragdolls and Cherubims – beautiful traditional and non-traditional expressions of the breed, including mink, sepia, and solid coats, often paired with green, blue, gold, or even odd-colored eyes.

As of May 1, 2025, The International Cat Association (TICA) will officially recognize Cherubims within the Ragdoll breed standard, allowing them to compete in TICA Championship classes. This change simply affirms what we’ve always believed: Cherubims embody everything that makes Ragdolls so loved – gentle nature, striking looks, and truly soulful presence.

This is the Ragdoll we specialize in, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Traditionals

Traditional Ragdolls are known for their striking contrast and classic beauty. Born pure white, their color and patterns gradually develop over the first few weeks of life. They come in a wide range of traditional colors and patterns, including colorpoint, bicolor, and mitted. Their coats are plush and silky, and while not as dark or dense as those of Minks, they maintain the luxurious texture Ragdolls are known for. Traditional Ragdolls typically have vivid blue eyes, one of their most iconic features. To produce a Traditional, both parents must carry the traditional gene.

Minks

Unlike traditional Ragdolls, which are born white, Minks are born with full color and pattern. Minks still come in all the traditional colors and patterns. The coat of a Mink is much smoother and even softer than that of Traditionals, and they have an even darker and richer all-over colored coat. The body of a Mink is just a shade lighter than their points. Mink Ragdolls have aqua blue to aqua green eyes, and some have the rare blue eyes. To produce a Mink, one parent must be a Mink, Sepia or Solid.

Sepias

These kittens are substantially darker than their Mink littermates and have a plush coat. Their eye color is usually green/gold, and sometimes even bluish or odd-eyed. Sepias are also born with full color and pattern. Both parents must be Minks to produce a Sepia, or one parent is a Mink and one is a Sepia, or both are solid-colored.

Solids

Solid Ragdolls are the darkest and highest contrast of all the Ragdolls. Solids are non-pointed and often referred to as “self-colored”. The body color and point color are all the same – a single color throughout. Solid Ragdolls’ eyes can come in all colors, with preference being given to green, and they can carry the same overlaying coat patterns. A Solid can only be produced if one of the parents is a Solid. However, Solids can carry the traditional pointed or Mink gene – but not both. Solids that do not carry one of those genes will only produce Solid kittens.
